In order to establish a rational impact resistant upgrading method for RC members, consecutive falling-weight impact loading tests of flexural strengthened RC beams with Aramid Fiber Reinforced Polymer (AFRP) sheet were conducted. Impact load was subjected by falling a 300 kg steel weight from the predetermined height. The height was increased in order of 1, 2, 2.5, and 3 m up to reach the ultimate state of the beam. The results obtained from this study were as follows: (1) strengthening effects of the sheet under the impact loading may be more than twice that under static loading; and (2) the accumulated impact energy for strengthened RC beams with AFRP sheet can be expected more than twice that for not strengthened ones.
