抄録	To connect our laboratory computer network to the INTERNET via a LAN in this institute, we try constructing a low-cost and high -reliability gateway. Because the cost-performance of personal computers are getting much higher recently. we utilize an IBM -PC clone machine and Free PC -UNIX (Linux) for it. The constructed gateway shows acceptable performance (its transfer speed is 80% of a commercial-gateway machine) and reliability.
