| 内容記述 | The definite article occupies the primary position in the article system both in Spanish and in Romanian. We examine the syntactic distribution of the definite article in a corpus, taking into account the distributional correspondence between the definite article and other determiners, the null article included. We conclude that the Spanish and Romanian definite articles have both a close connection with the null article and that the Romanian definite article assumes a part of the functions of the possessive adjectives in Spanish. It is also confirmed that the Romanian definite article has important morpho-syntactic characteristics which are not found in the Spanish one. | |||||||||||||
