| 内容記述 | If you walk towards Tokkarisho Cape on Itanki Beach in the southern part of Muroran City, you will come across a spot where you can hear a squeaking sound under your feet. Such sand playing a sound is called singing or musical sand in English. Itanki beach is widely known as a popular tourist spot representing the region. It has been clarified to be around 30 sites such singing sand beaches in Japan, each with its own unique regional characteristics. In this report, we scientifically investigate the singing sand of Muroran's Itanki Beach from the perspectives of topography, geology and engineering, and evaluate its characteristics. | |||||||||
