| 内容記述 | Muroran City is home to heavy industrial areas such as the steel industry. On the other hand, the coastline is home to many sandy beaches and scenic cliffs. Along this coastline is Itanki Beach, affectionately known as the singing sand beach. Working with members of the Itanki Beach Singing Sand Preservation Association, we have been observing the natural environment, analyzing the singing sand using scientific methods, and accumulating data to contribute to the conservation of the area. Here, we will introduce the methods and results of our analysis of the sand's components using a microscope, X-ray diffraction measurements, and a scanning electron microscope. | |||||||||
