| 内容記述 | The revision of the pension law in 2025 focused on raising the benefit level of the basic pension. This paper first outlines Japan's public pension system. Subsequently, I review the revision of the pension law in 2025. In that review, I will focus on issues related to the level of basic pension benefits. I will then review the discussion of the philosophy of the basic pension scheme and benefit levels based on previous studies. The main purpose of this paper is to list the issues to be considered regarding the benefit level of the basic pension. In the principles of the basic pension scheme, the issues to be considered in the future are: (1) detailed examination of the basic cost of living in old age, (2) issues related to the attributes of the insured and beneficiaries in the public pension scheme, (3) the issue of unpaid National Pension premiums and (4) issues related to policies for low-income individuals in old age other than pensions. | |||||||
