| 内容記述 | Though all the Romance languages have the category of article, their article systems are not always similar and the traditional grammar of each language has developed its own categorization of articles which are used in the language. Observing the articles of several Romance languages contrastively, we see that different categorizations from a language to another are applied to similar article systems, which seems to be linguistically quite inappropriate. In this article we try to present an adequate categorization of articles in French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Romanian from the point of view of Romance contrastive linguistics. We propose (a) that the so-called indefinite article and partitive article in French and Italian, which are traditionally considered to belong to separate groups, are integrated into a group which we call the indefinite article, which consists of two subgroups, indefinite singular article and indefinite partitive article, (b) that the so-called plural form of the indefinite article in Spanish and Portuguese should be categorized as an indefinite adjective and (c) that the categorization of articles in Romanian traditional grammar, which says that Romanian has only the genitive/dative form of the plural indefinite article and not the nominative/accusative form, is essentially appropriate. | |||||||||||||
