A}, month = {Mar}, note = {application/pdf, In this paper, in order to establish a simple and rational impact response analysis method on shear-failure type Reinforced Concrete (RC) beams, elasto-plastic impact response analysis on simply supported RC beams are conducted by means of Finite Element Method (FEM). Ten various kinds of RC beams are prepared for this study, in which rebar ratio, shear-span ratio, cross sectional dimensions, and impacted speed of steel weight are taken as variables. To investigate an applicability of the proposed analysis method, these numerical analysis results are compared with the corresponding experimental ones obtained from weight falling impact tests. Here, time histories of weight impact force, reaction force, and mid-span displacement are used for the comparison.
