My main reason for translating it is to introduce the author's way of thinking to Japan. The author, Hermann Strobach, has outdated the standpoint of the idea of the "Grundschicht"; he proposes a new thought: the creative of the people in the "Grundschicht" is also the most important moment for the development of the formation of the variations in the field of "oral tradition". Predominately there has been a fixed idea of jōmin (people in the "Grundschicht") in Japanese folklore. And there is no clash with the classic image of jōmin. I hope that this translation will raise earnest discussion about it.}, pages = {29--49}, title = {ドイツ民衆文芸の歴史について -研究資料・編訳 : ドイツ民主共和国・ベルリン科学アカデミー・歴史学-民俗学中央研究所 ヘルマン・シュトローバハ「ドイツ民衆文芸史」序文-}, volume = {35}, year = {1985}, yomi = {サカニシ, ハチロウ} }
