Firstly, we examine a means to classify house plans into patterns which are represented by diagrams [link patterns and arrangement patterns] to permit us systematically to generate the linkage and arrangement of unit spaces. Then, we consider an approach to describe the characteristic and the transition process of house plan types by use of the above method.
