To solve the problem the system uses the knowledge obtained from the several experienced experts. To get the knowledge is one of the most important problem to create the expert system. The system is generally developed by LISP, PROLOG or an expert shell such as the production system language OPS5. It has come into wide use rapidly in all engineering problems, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and so on. This paper explains the OPS5 and a computer program to choose the best foundation type as a bridge substructure.
