During the sequential and mixed cultivation of proteolytic microbes and some strains of sulfate-reducing bacteria in the homogenized tissues, cadmium was removed significantly from the homogenate as the metal-sulfide precipitate. Characterization of polyunsaturated fatty acids extracted from the tissues are also
