Japan has a target reducing the emission over 2008 - 2012 by 6.0 percent from 1990 level under the protocol. The energy consumption in Japanese households sector is remarkably increasing as compared to industrial and transport sectors. In particular, the household energy consumption in Hokkaido is conspicuously larger than that in other prefectures.
