Almost single phase was obtained at 500℃ for 12 h. Its structural and electrochemical properties are characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray diffraction Rietveld refinement, and charge/discharge studies. The α-Li0.5AlO2 electrode demonstrates a high discharge capacity of 100 mAh g-1 between 1.0 and 5.0 V versus
