The Ni/HZSM-5 catalyst showed the highest activity for methane decomposition among Ni/zeolite catalysts. However, a large amount of carbon was deposited on Ni/HZSM-5 catalyst during the reaction and catalytic activity of Ni/HZSM-5 was decreased with time on stream. On the other hand, catalytic activity and catalyst life of Ni/HZSM-5 for methane decomposition were remarkably improved by Pd addition.
