Secondly, in order to compute all complex propagation constants of degenerateand non-degenerate modes simultaneously, we replaced SSM for non-degenerateeigenvalue problems by SSM for degenerate eigenvalue problems. Lastly, we demonstratedvalidity of HTFEM by comparing analytic solutions and numerical results of degenerateand non-degenerate modes propagating in a cylindrical dielectric
