This paper serves two purposes; 1) outlining the value and potential of language study tours and 2) documenting the footsteps of collaborative co-learning that has been implemented between Muroran Institute of Technology and RMIT university over 20 years. The value of the study tours is discussed with emphasis on intercultural communication in the 21st century, while unwrapping what has been organised and implemented between these two universities in order to provide students with learning opportunities that feed into their ever-changing worldviews.
