| 内容記述 | There are two types of coordinate structure in Mongolian (Khalkha dialect)，that is，the one formed by-j / - č suffixes and the other formed by-aad/ -eed / -ood/ - ööd suffixes. The purpose of this paper is to observe the ellipsis phenomenon of subjects occurring in these coordinate structures and explicate some principles governing the subject elision. Section 2 presents the distribution of occurrence of subjects in terms of coreference and then formulates semantic principles as well as syntactic ones. Section 3 demonstrates the fact that discourse principles play an important role in the subject ellipsis. Section 4 leads us to the conclusion that the subject appearance of coordinate sentences is explained exhaustively on the basis of three different aspects, including syntax，semantics，and discourse analysis | |||||||||||||
